Make Your Own Social Media Graphics
As an author and publisher, I am always looking for ways to promote my books and my publishing company. Of course, social media is at the top of my list for promotion tactics since it is free. I usually post on LinkedIn, Twitter, YouTube, Pinterest, and Facebook.
To get ideas on what I could post, I often watch (not stalk – lol) successful authors in my genres to see what they are doing and then try to emulate them.
When I want to create a graphic for Facebook or Twitter or Pinterest, I use a fantastic free tool called Canva. Canva allows you to create a variety of graphics such as Facebook posts or profile pics, Twitter posts or profile pics, Pinterest info-graphics, email header graphics, and much, much more.
Here is the main screen of Canva, when you first log in:
I love using it. There are tons of free layouts and graphics and text snippets you can use, or you can upload your own. There is also the option of buying some graphics, layouts, and design features, however, they are only $1 each, so you are able to create professional looking graphics for just a dollar or two – or free!
Since I don’t have graphic design skills, I REALLY appreciate Canva.
The next time you are promoting a book on social media and you are looking for a graphic, why not try creating your own? It’s easy and fun.
Enjoy!
